Our Staff

Director/Teacher: Cindy Lessard

Cindy is the grandmother of an Intown alum and is very excited to be returning to the Intown community.  She has been an educator since 1988, and has devoted 17 years of her career to being a teacher or preschool director. Recently, she was teaching First Grade in Krakow, Poland.  Cindy says,

“Through the years as a Director I have had the opportunity to observe many programs and it is clear to me that Intown offers an ideal environment in which to promote the social, emotional and cognitive needs of the communities’ youngest children. Each child feels the security of assurance of a parent, caregiver or teacher while they are encouraged to explore and discover the world around them. I look forward to meeting and supporting the families at Intown and I am excited about continuing its long legacy of recognizing the importance of music, art and play in a young child’s development.”

Teacher: Linden Van Roijen

Linden joined Intown last year and was a teacher at Intown’s kids’ camp. She is a native Washingtonian and has had a varied background in what she calls “care giving”. After graduating from Clark University with a degree in sociology and gerontology she worked for several years as a case manager. Being a natural care giver she also became a Licensed Veterinary Technician and worked as a day technician and also in emergency services. We are fortunate that her caregiving now extends to the children attending Intown.  Linden says,

“A few of the many things that I truly enjoy about Intown is seeing the smiles on the children’s faces as they arrive at school in the morning, witnessing their interests and social confidence blossom throughout their days and the close interaction between teachers and parents in preparing the children to be explorers of life.”

Teacher: Viva Virtuoso

Viva is an early education specialist and performance artist. With a lifetime of performance experience under her belt, she brings an energy to the classroom that entices children and motivates their passion for learning. Miss Viva loves to provide a fun learning experience for children that appropriately challenges them socially, physically, and cognitively.  She has worked in early education for over 12 years, including 2 years teaching kindergarten in Harbin, China. She is excited to join Intown and looks forward to a great school year!
